Iced Matcha Coconut Water

Iced Matcha Coconut Water

Matcha and coconut water have been trending recently—and for good reason. Coconut water and matcha are known for their natural health benefits, including boosting energy and providing hydration. Matcha is known for its antioxidants and calm energy boost, while coconut water replenishes electrolytes and keeps you hydrated. But have you ever thought about combining both into a refreshing drink? This matcha and coconut water blend is a simple way to enjoy the benefits of both. The Natural coconut water means there's no need for added sugars, and you'll still get that clean, energizing boost from match.

Benefits Of Coconut Water And Matcha

Matcha is a green, concentrated powder made from the leaves of the camellia Sinensis tea plant. It is most commonly prepared with hot water and tends to have a sweeter and smoother taste than green teas. Matcha contains caffeine, antioxidants, and phytochemicals ( plant chemicals that offer a range of potential health benefits, including anti-inflammatory effects). Coconut water, on the other hand, is known for its naturally sweet taste and hydrating properties. Coconut water contains natural electrolytes like potassium, magnesium, and calcium, which are important for the body.

Why You'll Love This Beverage

  • Natural energy without the crash
  • Boosts focus and mood
  • Hydrating and refreshing
  • Simple, clean ingredients

What You'll Need

  • 1 teaspoon high-quality matcha powder
  • 1/4 cup hot (but not boiling) water
  • 1 cup chilled coconut water (preferably from young coconuts for natural sweetness)
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: a squeeze of lime or a drizzle of honey for extra flavor

Steps:

Step 1

Add one teaspoon of matcha power into a cup a small mixing bowl. Next, heat water until it's just below boiling - around 70-80 degrees is ideal to preserve the nutrients. Pour a small amount of hot water - about 2 to 3 tablespoons - over the matcha powder. This small quantity helps create a smooth paste when whisking, ensuring there are no clumps and enhancing the final texture of your drink.

Step 2

Using a bamboo whisk (chasen) or a small electric frother, gently whisk in a zigzag motion until the matcha becomes smooth. .From here, you can either top it off with more hot water for a traditional matcha tea or add milk for a creamy match latte

Step 3

Fill a glass with ice. Pour in the coconut water. I personally like to use the Energize With Nature—it is a naturally sweeter taste and adds a great flavour.

Once you've whisked your matcha into a smooth, frothy consistency, you can top it up with more hot water for a traditional matcha tea, or add steamed milk for a creamy matcha latte. Sip slowly and enjoy the earthy, umami-rich flavor. Whether you're starting your morning or taking a quiet moment in the afternoon, matcha offers a calming ritual and a gentle boost of energy.
