I'm on a mission to create recipes that nourish the body and satisfy a sweet tooth. This plant-powered chocolate mousse ticks all the boxes—it's creamy, rich, and naturally sweet, making it the perfect guilt-free indulgence.
This recipe is very simple and includes a few wholefood ingredients: silken tofu, dark chocolate, and a touch of honey. No dairy, no eggs, no additives!
Ingredients (Serves 2-3)
- 300g silken tofu (drained)
- 100g dark chocolate (70% or higher), chopped
- 2–3 tbsp honey (adjust to taste)
- Optional: pinch of sea salt or a splash of vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Blend the silken tofu
Place the silken tofu in a high-speed blender or food processor. Blend until completely smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed. The texture should be silky and lump-free.
2. Melt the chocolate
In a heatproof bowl, gently melt the chopped dark chocolate using a double boiler, or microwave in short 30-second intervals, stirring each time until fully melted and glossy.
3. Combine
Pour the melted chocolate into the blender with the tofu. Add honey (and sea salt or vanilla, if using). Blend again until everything is well incorporated and the mixture is thick, glossy, and smooth.
4. Serve
Spoon the mousse into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 1–2 hours to set. For a firmer mousse, chill longer. Serve as-is, or top with your favorite fruits, nuts, or a sprinkle of cacao nibs.
